about

“Sunrise Number 1” is the winning song of the “Space Rock” contest by NASA. It was played aboard Endeavour Space Shuttle, to awaken the astronauts on the final day of the spaceship’s final mission.

This song was inspired by the photos published from the Spacial International Station, where there’s a new dawn 16 times a day.

lyrics

Time to wake up and see the first sunrise
There’ll be fifteen more
Aurora Borealis lights up the horizon
Clouds swirl below

And we don’t care ‘bout rain or shine
When you’re in space the weather’s fine

Blue blue earthshine against a yellow moonshine
Such a sight to behold
Blood orange sunset fades into night lights
Cities etched in gold

And we don’t care ‘bout rain or shine
When you’re in space the weather’s fine

Soon we’ll sail back to our blue marble
Soon we’ll be getting back to normal

Now we don’t care ‘bout rain or shine
When you’re in space the weather’s fine

about

Stormy Mondays Oviedo, Spain

We are an indie folk rock band, hailing from Spain’s rainy northern coast. We have perfected our very own sound, classic and modern at the same time: an intriguing mixture of Americana, Soul, 60’s British Invasion and Asturian folk music.
